Intermex serves as an agent for Parsasco, offering customers the convenience of insuring their vehicles or renewing their WAM (Wettelijke Aansprakelijkheidsverzekering Motorrijtuigen) insurance with us. We also provide the option for online payments, and you can have your insurance delivered right to your doorstep!
Transportation
You have come to us for the transport of your 20- and 40-foot containers. Our experienced drivers will deliver your container within the foreseeable future.
Shipping Agency
Intermex Ship Agency offers a comprehensive range of services including customs clearance, unloading, transportation, custom brokerage, and storage. These services cater to both the import and export of goods in 20 and 40 ft. containers and are compatible with all shipping companies such as CMA-CGM, VSH, Integramar, etc. Intermex’s primary objective is to provide customers with essential services such as customs clearance and documentation, container provisioning, clearance, and transportation to the designated location. Semi Super rice

Export
Under the leadership of Mr. George Pahlad, both NV. Intermex and NV. Sunrice were established within the rice sector. George Pahlad served as the chairman of the VRE (Association of Rice Exporters in Suriname) from 2000 to 2014. The VRE was founded around 1960 as a cooperative of recognized rice exporters, following an agreement by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
He and the members emphasized greatly on quality based on international standards and on price stabilization. The primary goal of the VRE was to enhance Suriname’s competitive position. One of the projects undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of LVV, Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation, and Ministry of PLOS was the project “Support Program Competitiveness Caribbean Rice Industry,” aimed at competing on the international market at lower prices, given the altered EU policy regarding rice import from ACS countries and the new WTO regulations.
On a national level, the VRE monitored the quality of rice, husking, and milling yields. Collaboration with the National Rice Research Institute Foundation ensured adherence to these quality standards. Some of the quality standards included the ADRON guidelines at various mills. The export during that period was approximately 400,000 tons.
NV. Sun-rice is ISO 9001:2000 certified by Quality Masters, ensuring certified business processes and thus guaranteeing quality. Recently, the HACCP certification, pertaining to food safety, was also achieved. This enables the company to offer products with guaranteed quality and safety for consumption.
The brand under which the rice is sold is “Sunrice,” originating from Nickerie. Sunrice is the sister company of Intermex, solely involved in the paddy-to-rice processing process, while the brand is supplied to the market by NV. Intermex. Intermex caters not only to the local market but also to the Caribbean market with Surinamese white rice such as Santo Domingo, Jamaica, and Martinique.
